Had a terrific time – we were very lucky with the weather and the children were great. Thanks to Mrs Birkett for organising everything, Mrs Hooker, Mr Chapman, and particularly the brave Mr Burman, who was a brilliant team member. Hope the do went well, Jason!
No doubt you’ll be hearing all the stories over the weekend. I’ve uploaded a selection of my pics this morning - I hope you enjoy the slideshow below!
Cheers

PGL Latest from Tregoyd House – Thursday lunchtime
June 11, 2009Once again the river was stunningly beautiful in the warm sunshine, even though Mrs Birkett’s boat ran aground… Alice put her whole head in the river when they were playing Hokey Cokey (don’t ask)
GC’s and Mr Burman’s groups got very very muddy indeed in the challenge this morning – hopefully a picture or two will be appearing here soon, technology allowing. The rest will, we hope, get equally soaked this afternoon…

PGL Latest – Wednesday afternoon
June 10, 2009The rains have finally come – torrential rain and some thunder – but not until 4:45, by which time the canoeists were back, everyone had had their turn on the quadbikes, trapeze and climbing wall, and of course the fencers were in the dry anyway!
Tonight’s campfire will be a modified version indoors.
In this afternoon’s fun Phoebe beat the very confident GC at fencing, and Fred takes the prize for the most spectacular quadbike crash. The two Lucys flew up the climbing wall like a couple of squirrels (I know squirrels can’t fly, but you get the picture), and a special mention to Tallulah and Bethany S for exceptional bravery, both reaching the top of the climbing wall. Many of Mrs Birkett’s group have revealed a talent for circus skills, beating all the other groups on the trapeze.

Latest News Live From Tregoyd House – Wednesday
June 10, 2009A beautiful sunny morning here in Wales – perfect for a lovely canoe trip down the river Wye. It was nothing short of idyllic. Nobody got wet… Phoebe, Bethany S, Natasha and Angelica were the surprise paddling heroes.
Ella and Peter were stars on the Quad bikes – Anne is a speed demon – full throttle into the tyres!
Hope, Bethany, Bailey, Dan HS, Anne and Ella all got up Jacob’s Ladder- great climbing!
Super raft building from group 5: everyone worked as a team and had great fun. They got VERY wet, playing loads of mad games which involved diving into the water in many different ways… Liam particularly enjoyed himself, working as part of a team, which was great to see.
This afternoon two other groups go canoeing, whilst the others take part in Quadbikes, fencing, trapeze and climbing wall.
Camp fire tonight – indoors if wet (!) The weather forecast promises storms….

Latest News Live From Tregoyd House – Tuesday
June 9, 2009Tuesday evening
Today’s weather’s been great – often hot and sunny… fingers crossed…
Mentioned in despatches:
David Humphrey – the muddiest boy we’ve ever seen after the challenge course. He is also a mean rifle shot!
Abigail Owen – Won group 5′s rifle shooting competition
Georgia Stark – Went first on the trapeze and shot up the climbing wall like a human fly
Anne Quinlan – loving her food and doing well at all the activities – especially the climbing wall
Andrew Love – thanks from Mr Chapman for not dropping him when Andrew was belaying him at the climbing wall…
Megan Burrell – terrific daring and grace on the flying trapeze
Sam Duffy – for his brilliant fish impersonation during our raft building
Angelica Blake – wins the prize for the first ducking at the raft building
Emily Webb – well done for conquering her fears and abseiling brilliantly – twice! (Following Mrs Birkett’s glorious example)
Mrs Hooker, Mr Chapman, Mr Burman and Mr Cleaver for getting utterly and totally soaked to the skin in the raft building lake. We won’t mention the name of the child who tipped Mr Burman out…
Freya’s had a happy birthday!
… and a belated mention of Kieran Tynan for comfortably beating the ‘Are we nearly there yet?’ record during our journey here.
We hope to have a good night’s sleep tonight – we need it!
The children are running around playing a crazy game with the groupies at the moment – let’s hope it tires them out…
